40th Anniversary Trading Card Series

The trading card series that was revealed early this year now has a companion kickstarter to sell a bunch of exclusive materials, in various form factors and price levels.


Feels like the entire thing went from a casual, fun impulse buy at the cash register, to full on FOMO gambling, with all of those limited chase cards. What does everyone think?

That's all waaaay too much, but I am still excited to pick some of these up at, say, Target when they come out. I'm crossing my fingers for a per-pack retail price of around $5, not sure I can justify much more than that on 10 random cards. The Kickstarter seems to bear this out, as the "Collector Series Box" comes with 24 packs for $144, which is $6 per pack, not including said box...
