DC original animated movies

They turned Harbinger into a palette swap of Frankie Raye's Nova from the Fantastic Four?

...I know that's a weird thing to point out, but still.

Merry Little Batman is out.

It's got a little more plot than I thought but, whoa, cartoony violence might be too over the top.

Joker is pretty great.

Part that shocked me was the stabbing. Then the eventual result. Yow.

Finished watching Crisis.

It wad confusing, with all the jumping around.

It was only at the ending that I kicked myself for not figuring out the connection to the actual comics story beat. Blindsided me when it shouldn't have, haha.

I'm a Legion of Super-Heroes fan but I wanted why they picked Dawnstar. I can't recall if she did something major in the original comics.

Woot! That would be awesome! I wonder how they managed that. Like did he record something for this that long ago or did they take some dialog from his previous work and re use it? I mean there is probably enough there for a whole movie.

The lead times for animation are far enough he likely recorded stuff well before he passed. Kevin Conroy reportedly has a role in Amazon's "Caped Crusader" animated series, though not specified since Amazon hasn't revealed much about it. The assumption is that he won't be Batman, but some supporting role. COIE Part 3 will reportedly be the last time we hear him as Batman.

I thought this did things better than the original Crisis in several ways, notably how Barry Allen actually got a better ending. And it was clever how they tied this in with the previous New 52 adaptation movies by having Pariah be the previous universe's John Constantine, having been dumped there after the House of Mystery epilogue to New 52.

We watched the first part now that it was on Max. It was pretty good. Loved the old Wally and Iris scenes with Amazo.

Crisis Part 3 dropped today. They actually wrapped it pretty good, and the "hook point" was actually rather novel. It does a good job of "clearing the slate" under the new DC management. The only new films in production, that I know of, is the new Watchmen adaption. If they handle things like Marvel, this could well work as a "wrap up" of the entire DTV animated adaption initiative, much as what Marvel did when the MCU got going.

Lots of cameos and references. And after Suicide Squad...they gave Conroy a short but damned satisfying wrap to his time as Batman (it's on Youtube, just look for it).

Watched Crisis Part 2 this weekend as it was on Max. Liked it, as we got to see more of the Bat family, especially Terry. So that shadow creature at the end, that was the Anti-monitor?

Part 2 kinda dragged. No humor to spice it up. The bat family (and Terry) fighting each other was interesting for a bit tho.

Disappointed that the Legion getting wiped out in the first part really was it for them, boo.

I hear the third part was amazing tho.

Saw Crisis 3. That was disappointing. The actual ending was a letdown. Not even a montage of the possibilities. Only had one person focused on who wasn't even a main touch point in the trilogy.

I feel like they could have saved the terrifying shadow demons for the 3rd part and had Supergirl's big moment be in the second part, for possibly better pacing. The 3rd part could have had the ultimate last stand vs the Anti Monitor as their climax.

Tying in the previous movies and shorts was good, finally. But I hardly remember them anymore. I'm just glad Adam Strange's short with the sad ending was continued by John Stewart's movie and sorta got closure here. The Warworld movie tie in was semi ok, since I forgot about the main hero there. The Legion movie being the only actual important thing was weird, and done with a throw away line.

Yes, the cartoon Earth's getting destroyed was nice. Could have tied in with the other DC toon series, maybe?

Btw, I think the credits called Electrocutioner as just Executioner.

But, wow, whoever the writer is who decided to include Razer and Aya is great! No explanation, no tender moment but they were there together! FINALLY! Also Aya was wielding a Green Lantern ring? Ok.

Anyhow, while Crisis 3 and the whole trilogy was kinda dragging, I'm extremely happy that they sorta closed the book on Razer's search for Aya. Love that a lot!
